How much does it cost?
The Dental SideKick costs $3000. for an unlimited number of workstations at a single dental office location. (If you participate in our
30 day trial you can save $250 when you go on to purchase the Dental SideKick for your practice.)
I already own Caesy® (or another patient education system), do I need another program?Most patient education systems are based on playing a video movie about a topic for the patient. Even newer systems that employ a video server pc attached to your computer network are still providing a video or a video play list for the patient. Ask yourself if being able to interact with the presentation and the patient as they explore their treatment options will better suit your communication style or the communication style you would like to develop in your practice. If so order the Dental SideKick Trial, there is no risk involved except the time to try it out in your office.
I have a wiz-bang dental gizmo I want my patients to know about, how do I get it added to the program?
The Dental SideKick is evolving constantly. Just submit the material you have on the item. It it is widely used in dentistry, then we are likely to use it in the next update. If we use your material in our update, you get your next update free of charge.
How are updates handled?
Updates are periodic, 2 to 3 times per year.
You are free to submit graphics and materials for consideration as part of updates. If your material is accepted then your next update is free.
Otherwise, Unlimited updates are $350 per year.
Or, as each update comes out the practice can select any update element for $45 each, or a package price of all update elements at approximately $200 for the package. Approximately 8 to 12 new elements are planned per update.
What hardware do I need to use your system?
You need a Windows
2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7 PC with speakers to work the system. If the pc is in a treatment room it works best if a computer monitor is positioned so the patient can see it while seated. We can help you with recommended equipment to add a second monitor and monitor mounts that we have used in many dental treatment rooms, upon request.
The program is normally installed on your office server. Approximately 3 GB of hard disk is required. Once installed on the server, an icon is placed on the desktop of each computer where Dental SideKick is to be operated.
Can I install it locally on each PC if my network is old and slow?
In the rare case that your network is very slow (read old), you have the option of installing the software on each individual pc.
What if I have a new staff member who needs training on the product?
As long as you have high speed internet available to the computer you want to use for training, there is no charge. However, most offices just cross train their staff since the user interface is so easy with the Dental SideKick.
Remember, the Dental SideKick comes with video training on the product built in. The training consists of step 1, 2, 3 watch the 3 built in training videos, step 4, try out all the video movies, interactives, and before-and-after case presentations. In other words, you play with it until you learn it.
Can the Dental SideKick be used for staff training?
Absolutely, especially with new clerical staff. What better way to have them learn about dentistry than videos and interactive presentations?
How do I add my own before and after cases to the product?
The Dental SideKick comes with 16 illustrative before and after cases that show a cross-section of ethnic groups and ages. This allows you to use the product immediately without customization. During your trial period, you can assemble the images you want to use to customize this area of the program. Once you invest in your permanent license, we will supply an update cd that will add your images to the program.
I have multiple locations, how much do I need to invest?
The Dental SideKick is sold on a site license basis. This means you must purchase a full product site license for each practice site location that you have in your practice. The site license for each location is priced at $3000.
